Day 15

In your own space, create your own challenge. What’s something you want to see more people doing in fandom? Is there something fun you’ve tried that you think other people would enjoy if they gave it a go? Dare your friends to try it out, and have fun with it.

1) Try something new! Be it a new fandom, a pairing you never thought to try or a kink/trope you've been  ignoring. [livejournal.com profile] epic_recs [livejournal.com profile] crack_van and [livejournal.com profile] smallfandomfest are good places to start looking

2) Post a rec for that one fic/art/vid/book/show/movie/etc you've always loved but have been ashamed to admit to liking.

3) Join/participate in a community/meme/activity designed to make you create and/or interact with a larger portion of fandom. such as:. [community profile] snowflake_challenge, [community profile] fandom_stocking, [livejournal.com profile] naarmamo, NaNoWriMo, or join a landcomm (there are dozens) or post in a friending meme or just join something designed to make you post more [livejournal.com profile] 100things_index, 30 day meme, rectober, etc

In your own space, talk about a creator. Show us why you think they are amazing.

This is both difficult and easy. There are so many awesome creators in fandom, narrowing it down to one is near impossilble. There are so many that I love that I'll read anything they care to write. I know I'll forget a bunch, but here is a partial list: [livejournal.com profile] van, [livejournal.com profile] stillrose, [livejournal.com profile] killabeez, [livejournal.com profile] aspenlight, [livejournal.com profile] batsutousai, [livejournal.com profile] nautibitz, [livejournal.com profile] jinxed_wood, [livejournal.com profile] madeleone, faviconGood_Witch, faviconliteraryspell, and a whole bunch more. Everyone on my flist is there because I like what they do. ♥♥♥

Day 12

In your own space, talk about what you bring to fandom. It can be something tangible, or not.

Each one of us interacts with fandom in their own way. What is yours? Do you create fanworks? Edit? Cheerlead? Create rec lists? Mod a challenge? Leave awesome feedback? Click that Kudos button (and maybe wish it could be clicked more than once per fanwork)?

Didn't we already answer this with or responses to days 1, 3 & 5? I create graphics, occasionally write and I've beta-ed a few times. I also ocassionally leave comments and I leave kudos.

Day 10

Stretch yourself a little and try something new. Go play in a new fandom or with a new pairing. Try working in a new medium. Or check out some fanworks that are new to you.

Ok, so this one I really shouldn't do, because the last thing I need is to start playing in another fandom. The list of fandoms I already read fic in is enormous!

So, of course like the idiot I am I read a House/Cameron fic. Damn. Maybe I should have stuck with my original idea of reading a new (to me) pairing in Harry Potter. Bugger.

If I miss posting tomorrows challenge, someone poke me. I'm going over to AO3 to drown myself in the House/Cameron tag now.

Oh, the fic I read was Detour.

Day 9

In your own space, talk about what surprises you about fandom. It could be a pairing or fandom you never thought you'd like. A fanwork type you never knew existed.

Talk about a talent you discovered you have. Finding folks who are geekier than you, or on the flip side, finding out that there is no one geekier than you. A person who changed your life. The possibilities are endless. Big or small, what unexpected surprises have you found?

Day 8

In your own space, create a love meme for yourself. Let people tell you how amazing and awesome and loveable you really are.

Like most people, I'm not really comfortable with posting this, but as that's the whole point of the challenge, here it is.

Day 7

In your own space, share your love for a trope, cliché, kink, motif, or theme. (More than one is okay, too.) Tell us about it, tell us why you love it, give us some examples and recs.

Day 6

In your own space, create a fanwork. A drabble, a ficlet, a podfic, or an icon, art or meta or a rec list. A picspam. Something.

I've been wanting an excuse to make new wallpapers for my phone, but all my graphics making time has been spent working on various challenges lately.

Day 5

In your own space, talk about your fannish origin story. How did you come to fandom, why did you choose your fannish name, do you have more than one secret identity?

Day Four

Comment to someone you haven't ever interacted with before or introduce yourself to someone you've interacted with and friend/follow them.

It doesn't have to be anything complex - it can be feedback for a fanwork or discussing something you might have in common or even simply admiring their icon. The point is to reach out to someone you normally wouldn't and connect with them, even if it's only for the briefest moment.

So, I'm counting this one done, since I've been commenting on all the Twinmas posts on [livejournal.com profile] hptwinsmut and I've interacted with a couple people from the Snowflake challenge that I've never talked to before.

Day 3

In your own space, talk about your creative process - from what inspires you to what motivates you to how you manage to break through blocks. Does your process change depending on the type of creating you're doing?

Really short boring answer... )

Day 2

In your own space, create a list of at least three fannish things you'd love to receive, something you've wanted but were afraid to ask for - a fannish wish-list of sorts.

I decided to give this a go this year. We'll see if I actually manage to finish it.

Day 1

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator.
