1. Favorite childhood book?
This one is difficult… as a child I read a lot of Little Golden Books and Doctor Seuss (age 3-5) I had a big ‘Busytown’ book that I loved. I don’t even remember which one it was. Then as I got a little older (7-8) I read: The Berenstain Bears and Little Critter books…
I just read Heidi a few years ago and it’s now my favorite children’s book
I do however like quite a few YA/Teen book series
2. What are you reading right now?
Technically… From Sawdust to Stardust: The Biography of DeForest Kelley, Star Trek’s Dr. McCoy. I just haven’t picked it up for a while. I’m in one of my moods where I just don’t want to read. I’m trying to force myself to get over it because these moods usually last years.
What I’m actually reading right now is fanfic. I’m hoping it will help me want to start reading again.
3. What books do you have on request at the library?
The Exile: An Outlander Graphic Novel – Diana Gabaldon
A Game of Thrones – George RR Martin (which is in transit to me)
Ghost Story – Jim Butcher
Shadowfever – Karen Marie Moning

I try to read one at a time, but I can read 2-3 at a time if necessary

Yes. I don’t read as much. I spend most of my time online.

27. Most inspirational book you’ve read this year (fiction or non-fiction)?
I haven’t read anything yet this year except a re-read of a fanfic or two
28. Favorite reading snack?
I try not to eat while I’m reading. The few times I do, it’s usually Ritz, Club or Townhouse crackers and maybe sliced cheese
29. Name a case in which hype ruined your reading experience.
I don’t usually payb attention to the hype surrounding books
30. How often do you agree with critics about a book?
I don’t read book critics. Ever. I have no idea if I’ve ever agreed with any or not.
31. How do you feel about giving bad/negative reviews?
Depends on why I didn’t like the book.
32. If you could read in a foreign language, which language would you choose?
French and/or Spanish
33. Most intimidating book you’ve ever read?
A Breath of Snow and Ashes – Diana Gabaldon.
I don’t know why this one was so intimidating. It’s not any longer than the rest of the series and it’s not my least favorite either. But I had to put Post-It markers every 288 pages or so, so I could actually see the progress I was making while reading.
34. Most intimidating book you’re too nervous to begin?
Lord of the Rings Trilogy
35. Favorite Poet?
While I like Poetry, I don’t like it enough to have a single favorite poet
36. How many books do you usually have checked out of the library at any given time?
2-3
37. How often have you returned book to the library unread?
Quite frequently.
38. Favorite fictional character?
I don’t have one. There are many characters that I love, but I don’t have one clear favorite.
39. Favorite fictional villain?
Unlike with TV shows and movies, I don’t think I’ve ever liked a villain from a book.
40. Books I’m most likely to bring on vacation?
I don’t go on vacation.
41. The longest I’ve gone without reading.
There have been stretches were I’ve gone years without reading
42. Name a book that you could/would not finish.
I almost always finish books if I start them, no matter how bad they are. The one exception was Die for Love by Elizabeth Peters. It was awful, I gave up after a couple chapters.
43. What distracts you easily when you’re reading?
Almost nothing. My mother’s voice. I can’t concentrate on anything if she’s talking and she doesn’t even have to be talking to me.
44. Favorite film adaptation of a novel?
The Thorn Birds and the Harry Potter series.
45. Most disappointing film adaptation?
Most recently: The Twilight series
Over all I prefer books to movies. It’s almost impossible to cram enough of a book into a 2 hour movie to make it good.
46. The most money I’ve ever spent in the bookstore at one time?
I have no idea
47. How often do you skim a book before reading it?
Never
48. What would cause you to stop reading a book half-way through?
If something happens that I think is so OOC that it just could not have possibly happened.
49. Do you like to keep your books organized?
I try to, yes. I doesn’t always work.
50. Do you prefer to keep books or give them away once you’ve read them?
Depends on the book. I collect books by some authors. If I particularly like/love a book I’ll keep it. Otherwise I usually post it on papberbackswap.com or donate it to a library book sale
51. Are there any books you’ve been avoiding?
Quite a few actually. My TBR list is massive and I keep putting off quite a few series I’d like to try.
52. Name a book that made you angry.
I can’t think of any right now
53. A book you didn’t expect to like but did?
The Twilight series

There were a few I didn’t like quite as much as I thought I would, but none that I just didn’t like.
