Deer

I have deer in my backyard. Which isn't all that surprising, we usually have them 2-3 times a week. But today they came while it was still light out and I got pictures. :) Not very good pictures. For some reason the deer refused to be still.

I'm guessing they came early today because it's going to be so cold tonight. (Well below zero, with an even colder wind chill) And they're still here now (they've been here for an hour).

No, we actually live 20 minutes from downtown, but we have two wooded areas a lake nearby.

Did you put something out for them? They seemed very interested in the base of that tree.

We feed the squirrels and birds. They were eating the squirrel food. We also get ducks, rabbits and the occasional raccoon as well.

I envy you your wild life. I do live in a semi rural area and I get excited if a song thrush turns up, Mind this part of Wales was so heavily industrialised until the mid 20th century that the wild life is very rare. I do get squirrels and slow worms(legless lizards) and once a fox so things are improving in the 21st century.
