Doctor Who
Feb. 22nd, 2008 10:19 pmI had to get a Doctor Who icon for this post. Something tells me I'll be using it quite often.
I have finally stared watching "Classic Who". I usually insist on watching a show from the beginning, but I'm making an exception in this case.
vandonovan has got me curious about the second Doctor and more in particular Two/Jamie. So I am watching episodes from the first and second Doctor at the same time.
An Unearthly Child (1st Doctor):
I'm a bit surprised, but I rather liked these episodes. The 'pilot' episode and the 'first' episode are the same episode with a few minor changes. I like the 'first' episode version better. As for William Hartnell, I think I will reserve judgement on whether I like his Doctor until I've seen a few more episodes.
The Tomb of the Cybermen (2nd Doctor):
Hmm, well. I do like Patrick Troughton's Doctor. I can also see Two/Jamie (although that may be because I was looking for it and I expected to see it). I did not, however, like the episodes. *ducks and runs for cover*
Oh, Van...feel free to recommend Two/Jamie fics for me to read. :)
A side note here...Does anybody here read Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series? Is my brain finding coincidences where there aren't any?
Two's companion = Jamie (a Highlander in a kilt) played by Frazer Hines...Gabaldon's hero (for lack of a better term) = Jamie Fraser a Highlander in a kilt. Hmm.
Did I mention it's a time travel series? And Jamie's wife is a doctor?
I just got Doctor Who: The Complete First Series on DVD and I re-watched it. Can I just say... I love the Ninth Doctor! *sigh* I noticed a few things while I was re-watching the series. I am clueless sometimes :)
