All of my graphics are stored in LJ Scrapbook. The reason I just paid to renew my 'Paid Account' on LJ is because DW doesn't have a photo-hosting site yet. If I had known about this 4 days ago I wouldn't have bothered renewing my account.

I will now be spending then next few days removing all of my 3,800 photos/graphics from LJ. I have no idea were I will put them. This of course, will break all links to my icons and wallpapers in my graphics comm. SHIT!

So it looks like Dreamwidth is offering a 'promotion' of sorts right now. Due to the extreme number of people fleeing LJ like rats from a sinking ship, you can create an account on Dreamwidth this weekend without an invite code. Then go here and import all of your LJ entries, comments, etc to your Dreamwidth account. (There is a backlog of imports at the moment, but once you start the import you can log-off and it will keep working). There is also a tool for comm imports in the works. Yay! If you're worried about being hopelessly confused by DW go here. You can check this out too.

However, there is a bit of a work around for the new comment boxes. Go here, scroll down to 'Presentaion: Basic Options'. Look for the line that says "Disable customized comment pages for your journal" set it to NO. Save changes. Comment pages on your journal will now use the 'old' comment boxes. You can do this for any comms you run as well.

We know you've been waiting for an update on notifications, so we wanted to let you know what's going on instead of holding off until the next newsletter.

LiveJournal has been placed on a spam-block list by an external service used by several email providers. As a result, notifications that are ordinarily sent via email providers that use this spam-blocking service (such as Yahoo!) are not being delivered. Unfortunately, we don't have direct control over this list and cannot simply remove ourselves. Please note that this issue has nothing to do with any service or feature on LiveJournal (such as Games).

We're working very hard to get LiveJournal removed from this spam-block list. This involves widescale efforts to eliminate the root cause of the issue (e.g., certain spammers use external email to spread spam links to LiveJournal). To this end, we're researching several ways to identify legitimate LiveJournal accounts and messages, so we're not as vulnerable to being blocked in the future.

Until this issue is resolved, we suggest you use LiveJournal's internal messaging system (the Inbox) to receive notifications. You may also be able to receive notifications by IM, depending on the client you use (read this FAQ for more details). To update your settings, visit the Notifications tab and select the Inbox option (you can also try the IM option) for all your important notifications. You can then check your Inbox to read your comments and notifications.

We're very sorry that this issue has gone on for so long. Like you, we depend on our notifications. We'll keep you posted on further developments right here in news. We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding while we try to resolve this matter.

I guess we no longer have a choice as to whether we want to try out the new profile layout. Personally I don't really care for it.
