Methos/Avon would be a wonderful pairing. Unfortunately I've never seen any stories with that pairing. I did rec a drabble here that has Methos and Avon in it. :)
The Dresden Files is a book series about a Wizard named Harry Dresden. He solves supernatural crimes in Chicago. (There was also a tv show, but it's not as good). You can find more info about the books here.
