There a new things happening at the Dragon Cave. State of the Cave 03/10/10. Yay!?!?
These changes affect everyone with a scroll
Balancing
The breed balancing system has been tweaked to give more priority to recent dragons. This should have the effect of making the system "forget" about huge imbalances eventually rather than stubbornly trying to correct them for months (against the wishes of the users.)
Forum 500-Internal-Server-Error Errors
Hopefully have been fixed.
Incoming Updates
There are some incoming updates (hopefully sometime this week). The list of changes includes:
The next dragon release (Codename: Mod Mayhem) will be hitting DC in the next two weeks. Brace yourselves and cue speculation.
New things explained:
Balancing: The new releases shouldn't clog up the cave for over a month. After a few days the cave will 'forget' about the imbalance and start crating older eggs again.
Diamorphism: Yes, it will affect existing dragons on your scroll. The old La Femme Draconis Project. I don't know if these are the sprites that will be used or not, but it's a start for trying to figure out how dragons will be changed.
BSA: Breed Specific Action. (Bite, Incubate, Influence, Earthquake, etc)
"minimum hatching/maturing" time: It now takes less time for eggs to hatch and hatchlings to grow up. It will happen when the egg/hatchling has 3 days 23 hours left instead of 3 days 12 hours or less.
It has also been noted that the Ascendance (Ascension) stage is supposed to be relesed this summer. This hasn't been confimed by TJ as far as I know.
Mod Mayhem: Current Completed Dragons list. New dragons are usually removed from this list prior to being released. This time TJ has said that they haven't been removed from the list. So, the new releases could be on this list somewhere. It's also possible that the new releases never were on the list. There has been speculation by the Mod's that the new releases are actually from a different project that we haven't seen.
I also seem to be running out of names for my dragons. If anyone feels like giving me some suggestions feel free. I don't promise to use them, but maybe they will help spark an idea at least. My Scroll
