Neverland?

Did anyone watch the SyFy mini-series Neverland? I'll admit, I watched it mainly because Rhys Ifans was playing James Hook. Considering it was put together by Syfy it wasn't bad, I expected it to be much worse. But then, they tend to do a better job with their mini-series than with their movies.

I've just seen the first part so far, and it's... teetering on the brink of good and bad for me. There's a lot of over the top, doesn't make sense stuff going on, and I can't decide if it's a reboot or an alternate telling or why they're changing "canon facts" and stuff. So I'm enjoying aspects of it, but mostly all of my comments have been along the lines of, "Because they wouldn't have found that place in two-hundred years.......?" or "None of the Indians notice that the canoe weights three times as much today?" etc. Soooo, verdict is still out until I get around to watching part two.

I think it's supposed to be a re-imagined prequel, much like Tin Man was a re-imagined sequel to The Wizard of Oz.

I had the same reaction. There are parts that I quite enjoyed, but others that had me wondering why they would do it that way.

Watched it for the same reason (Ifans, and he's absolutely gorgeous) and loved it.
