*pokes flist* Is anyone there... ;p
So, the recent posts over at
lj_feedback are giving me a little bit of hope that LJ may become user friendly again. I won't hold my breath, but we shall see.

I've recently bought a Roku 3 and am watching shows I never got around to. Most notably, Sherlock. XD Yes, I have finally succumbed. Since I also watch Elementary and I adore the RDJ movies I can't help but compare and contrast the three different versions. There are things I love about all three and each have things I dislike as well. I absolutely love the interactions between Sherlock and John (no surprise there, really), Mrs. Hudson is adorable and a love Molly. Watching Benedict's portrayal of Sherlock is fascinating, I can't help but think he'd make a brilliant Tom Riddle (ah, and here's my current HP obsession rearing it's head). Then there's Moriarty. *sigh* I hate him in Sherlock (*ducks and runs for cover*), but no, seriously he comes off more as a petulant child that anything else and I just can't stand it. But aside from that I do actually rather like the show. ;)
My fanfiction reading are almost completely devoted to Harry Potter and have been for awhile. That may change once Doctor Who starts up again, but more likely not. As my previous comment suggests, my current fic obsession is Tom Riddle, Voldemort to a lesser degree, I prefer him as Tom. So I've been scrounging around for every Tom/Harry and/or Tom/Hermione fic I can find as well as Gen fic where Tom is friends with either of them or where one of them raises him as their own or some other similar scenario. Yes, Yes, I know I'm very odd. But if you do happen to know of any fics like that, I'd love to know about them, although I have found quite a few on my own.
I don't really go to the movie thater much anymore because it aggravates my migraines, so I tent to hold back and only go see the Superhero movies. XD I saw 'X-Men Days of Future Past' and absolutely loved it!!! I also went to the David Tennant Fathom Event 2 weeks ago, because I can't turn down a chance to watch Doctor Who on the Big Screen. The only other 2 movies I've seen in the past few months are Captain America: Winter Soldier and Veronica Mars. Both of which I loved.
We had to put or dog (Bailey) to sleep in February and I'm still not really over it and I don't like talking about it.
Oh!! Since flagfic went down I've had to cave in and download Calibre and actually learn how to use it, sort of. *sigh* I'll be extremely happy if flagfic actually comes back, not that it will help for fanfiction.net. I don't like that Calibre automatically downloads in ePub format, although I do like that I can see the fic summary at a glace without having to open the file. I still don't know how to use it to organise all the fics I have downloaded, it took me long enough to figure out how to download things and convert them to mobi files. :(
My eyes are telling me it's time to get off the computer before I get a headache... *sigh* I have been peeking in at my flist occasionally, so you may start seeing me around a bit more. :)

Date: 2014-06-29 05:07 am (UTC)I'm sorry about Bailey. {{hugs}}
I live in the Avengers section of AO3 and have since just after the first Thor movie came out. I like it there. :)
I think I've got Calibre set to automatically convert to a Mobi file. I have no idea how I did that, though.

Date: 2014-06-29 09:53 am (UTC)I tend to download mobi files direct from AO3 these days. I do use Calibre too but have only a very basic idea how it works.
Sorry about Bailey. I was terribly upset when my brother's old dog had to be put down so I can only imagine how you must feel when it's your own dog. *hugs*

Still here, though belatedly, sorry.
Sherlock is really good. One of the shows that everyone talks about even though they are not "fannish". And I can recommend it because the cinematography is awesome and the music and everything.
As an all around Sherlock Holmes fan, too, I admit to not having seen Elementary yet. My biggest hangup about it is that London (which to me is an integral part) is missing. But I've been told by several Holmes-fans that it's good, so I will get around to it someday.
Sorry to hear about your dog.
Can't help with Calibre. The husband bought an e-reader the other day and he uses something called feedly (http://feedly.com/index.html#discover)
It gathers RSS feeds which also works on AO3. No idea about ff.net though.
Hope to read more from you!
