But before I get to the updates about my computer problems...

I usually stay away from all political posts, etc... and I don't plan on changing that now. However, if anyone is interested vandonovan  has made an adorable little Obama clay figurine that he's actioning off on ebay. So, go take a look. Ebay auction here and you can see his LJ post about it here. I don't want to get into any political discussions on my LJ and neither does Van, so please don't post any kind of debate style comments here or on his LJ. They will be ignored.   

Now, back to my evil computer.

We figured out what went wrong and how to fix it, but not how it went wrong. Somehow the driver for my mouse disappeared. It wasn't deleted, at least not by us. It was there one minute and the mouse was working, then it was gone. We were able to install a new driver and mouse, hopefully it doesn't happen again, but if it does we have the software so we can re-install it. Needless to say, I am very confused about how it happened. Although, at the moment I'm just glad it was something that was semi-easy to fix.

Oh yeah, some of other American friends are getting fed up with it all... I imagine it must been pretty much pervasive. Anyway. I'll stop there before that sparks off discussion.

Anywho.

Glad you've got it fixed. Not sure how that would happen... maybe someone was playing around on your PC? I've managed to disable my trackpoint mouse on my last laptop by going into the BIOS setup and having a wee fiddle.
